About Me

Hi!

Welcome to The Rustic Cookie Cutter!

Where we turn sugar into sweets and junky into funky!

Rustic Cookie Cutter

I am so excited to start sharing with you the crazy ideas that are always swimming through my head.  But to start, here’s a little about me!

I am the typical basketball, football, baseball, golf, show choir stepmom/wife to one amazing man and two of the greatest sons a stepmom could ever ask for!  I am truly blessed!

But with a house so full of testosterone and sports, it was hard for me to find the time (and audience) to create and share all those things that get me so twitterpated.  So I created The Rustic Cookie Cutter!

It’s my little corner of the internet that I get to share fun things with my likeminded friends.  (And maybe some of my friends that totally don’t get what I do but are so supportive that they still stop by every now and then.)

Baking makes me happy and is my therapy!  I bake treats that are easy so that even the busiest moms or dads can pull them off.  I use every day ingredients, simple instructions.  And I love to recreate old favorites from vintage recipes.

For whatever reason, I have developed a love of old metal and rust!  Weird!?!  I know right!  But a lot of the posts you’ll see on here involve rustic metals and a few other materials as well.  I love to find old items and repurpose them into something fun and useful.

And when I’m not baking or upcycling on here, I’m usually treasure hunting.  And I’m not talking high value items.  My treasures are more along the lines of one man’s trash is another man’s treasures.  Sometimes, it’s just something that I find fun and unique.  I might not know what I’m going to do with it yet but it comes home with me anyways.

I’m excited to share this journey with you!  I can’t wait to share my recipes, creative projects and kooky treasure finds with you!  Comment when you can and introduce yourself!  I’m so excited to get to know more people who enjoy the same things I do!

Talk to you soon!  Lori
