I found 4 in a drawer and 3 in the cupboard.
I have 8 left over in the box downstairs.
And I found another 6 in the sock drawers upstairs.
I have so many candy canes left over from Christmas, I’m not sure what I’m going to do with all of them!
I used to have the same problem every year! The boys would get them all the time with gifts and from teachers, friends, neighbors, etc. And I was always picking them up when I found new flavors or they were on sale or just because I “thought” I was going to use them for some recipe or project.
Then they’d sit.
Until eventually, I’d throw them away to make room for the Easter candy.
Well, NO MORE!
Now, I have the PERRR-FECT solution for all those left-over candy canes. And it’s so easy, you’ll wonder why you haven’t been doing this all along.
Are you ready for this?
It’s…. Candy Cane Infused Vodka (ta-da)

And nowadays, that doesn’t mean just peppermint either. I mean, did you see all the different flavors of candy canes that were out this year? Oh, my gosh!
But let’s think about this a second. While a lot of those flavors are funny and unique(?), would you really want to eat a candy cane in one of these weird flavors, let alone drink vodka that flavor?
What would you even mix gravy flavored vodka with? <insert awkward silence>
Maybe I’m just not adventurous enough. But that’s fine, I’ll stick with my fruity or traditional flavors. I’ll leave the gravy vodka for those young’uns.
And we didn’t have any wild and crazy flavors at our house this year. So, we made peppermint, cinnamon, and raspberry. These are so easy, you could probably pull them together in a few hours!
- Grab a clean bottle of some sort (I used an empty glass bottle)
- Break 6-8 candy canes and drop in the bottle
- Pour vodka over the candy canes
- Cover the bottle until candy is dissolved
- Drain with a coffee filter
It’s that EASY! Now you have flavored vodka to use in your coffee, hot chocolate, drinks, or whatever you might use flavored vodka for. And you don’t have a big ole’ bottle of it to use up either. You can make however much or however little you want.
I like the little bottles of different flavors so I can switch them up as much as I want. I’ve heard Jolly Ranchers work well too! Maybe another project for the summer when candy canes are hard to come by.
If you want, you can also try Skittle Vodka! It was a huge hit over the holidays!
